BSF Soldier Killed In Militant Attack Near Tripura Border

According to Reports, A Border Security Force (BSF) agent died while carrying out his duty during a militant attack on Friday near the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura.

Insurgents from the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) opened fire on a BSF team, hitting a soldier named Girish Kumar Yadav with bullet wounds.

Girish Kumar Yadav served in the Kanchanbari subdivision of the North Tripura district as a member of the BSF’s 145th battalion.

As per sources, the BSF jawan was hit by four rounds during the insurgent assault. Yadav was airlifted to Agartala, where doctors eventually declared him dead.

A BSF unit was reportedly undertaking an area dominance operations at the border outpost area in the Kanchanpur subdivision when the gunfire from the opposite side of the border started this morning. When BSF personnel replied, the militants fled.
