Seven persons, two of whom are women, have been detained in Delhi, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh for allegedly robbing a wellness centre in Delhi’s Netaji Subash Place Complex while pretending to be members of the Mumbai Police. According to the authorities, the accused planned the act after seeing the Bollywood film “Special 26.”
The incident allegedly occurred on Wednesday in the afternoon when four individuals—including a woman—entered the health center’s office while pretending to be Mumbai Police officers. They stole between Rs. 5-7 lakh under the guise of executing a raid that lasted five hours, according to the police. Under threat of violence, the victim was forced to phone his wife, who then withdrew Rs. 5 lakh that had been gathered by the female accuser, the police.
In addition to cash, the accused also allegedly escaped with the victim’s bank records, a laptop, and ten phones.The Delhi Police opened an inquiry after filing a case. The initial inquiry found that a group of people who were standing watch outside the office were with the accused.
