On Monday, Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in India, and his family got several threatening calls. Threats were made against the billionaire who is the owner and chairman of Reliance Industries, the firm with the highest market share, by calling the Reliance Foundation Hospital (RIL).
The Mumbai police received a complaint from the hospital, and after conducting an inquiry, one person is reportedly in custody. The inquiry is still ongoing. The Mumbai police were informed as a result of the hospital’s prompt action, which included filing a complaint at the DB Marg Police Station. The team has started the inquiry, which resulted in one person being detained.
The wealthiest family in India has previously received threats over the phone. An explosives-packed SUV was discovered parked outside the Ambanis “Antilia” in February of last year, sparking an ongoing NIA probe. In response to the threats, the Supreme Court granted permission to the government in July of this year to keep providing security for Ambani and his family in Mumbai.
