U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Declares 48 Hours Of Free Bus Travel On Rakshabandhan

In honour of Rakshabandhan, Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, said that, the state would provide free bus rides to women for 48 hours. The announcement is the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh’s Rakshabandhan present to the women of the state.

As Rakshabandhan drew near, the office of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister stated, “On the event of Rakshabandhan, the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation should provide free transport facility in buses for the safe trip of all the ladies of the state”.

The already rare action became much more extraordinary when the state head announced that the women would be allowed to travel for free for 48 hours, starting at midnight on August 10 and ending at late night on August 12. The declaration comes up with an aim to mark the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava”.

M. Venkaiah Naidu, vice president, had urged everyone to uphold women’s dignity and make sure that are always in a secure environment. Naidu celebrated Rakshabandhan with students from several nearby schools at the Raj Bhavan in Bangalore.
