SWIGGY introduced “Moonlighting Policy” Under which Employees Can Take Up Outside Works

A platform for buying and delivering food called Swiggy revealed on Wednesday that it had put in place a “Moonlighting policy” that was a first for the industry and allowed employees to work on outside enterprises for freely or for pay with internal clearances.

According to a statement from the company, this may include work completed on the weekends or after hours that has no affect on how effective they are at their regular duties or poses any form of conflict with Swiggy’s operations.

Employees may occasionally work supplementary jobs beyond the typical business hours of their primary job.

A significant portion of the working population allegedly found new interests and potentially even a job-generating activity during the countywide lockdowns, according to the corporation with its Headquarters in Bengaluru, which provided an explanation for the choice.

What Moonlighting Policy says :

Swiggy sincerely believes that working on such projects outside of one’s regular job can significantly aid in a person’s professional and personal growth. They stated that, “Whether it be working as a dance instructor, volunteering with an NGO, or producing material for social media.” The policy lays out guidelines that workers must abide by while taking on a second job.

An approval process is required for projects that have a higher likelihood of resulting in a conflict of interests or clashing with an employee’s duties to Swiggy.

The policy is available to all full-time employees of Bundl Technologies, including those at its subsidiary, affiliates, associate companies, and group companies. Bundl Technologies Private Ltd is in charge of overseeing the Swiggy app

The Moonlighting Policy is designed to encourage employees in pursuing their interests without being confined by their full-time employment with us. Girish Menon, Swiggy’s head of Human Resource Department, says: “Our goal is to develop a world-class, “people first” company, and this is simply one more step in that direction.” The majority of Swiggy’s jobs will now always permit remote work, the company announced last week.
