As per Information, a train struck the minibus they were travelling in at an unguarded level crossing in Bangladesh’s Chittagong region, killing at least 11 persons, including seven students.
‘How did the Accident happen’ :
The incident reportedly happened in Mirsharai Upazila when a mini van having teachers and students from an coaching academy was struck by a Provati Express train travelling in the direction of Dhaka.
According to Kabir Hossain, the officer-in-charge (OC) of the Mirsharai police station, the victims included seven students who were roughly the same age as one another and four teachers.
“The mini bus was struck by the express and carried more than hundred metres along the train track”.
According to him, five other passengers on the mini bus suffered significant injuries, while eleven people died immediately.
According to Anisur Rahman, the deputy director of Chittagong Divisional Office of Fire Service, the victims’ bodies were taken from the scene and then given to the families.
Firefighters extricated the bodies of the deceased from the scene after rescuing the injured and bringing them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
