According to Sources, People with knowledge of the situation said that a special Dhanbad court will announce its decision on Thursday afternoon about the murder trial held against two persons for the death of additional district judge Uttam Anand, who was run over by an autorickshaw precisely a year ago.
Lakhan Verma, a 22-year-old auto driver, and Rahul Verma, a 21-year-old accomplice, were detained in this case.
‘How did Uttam Anand Judge Die’ :
On July 28 of last year, Judge Uttam Anand went out for a morning jog when he was struck by an autorickshaw, causing security fears throughout the whole judiciary. The Jharkhand government immediately asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the investigation due to the sensitivity of the matter.
The automobile, which had been taken from Dhanbad, was eventually found in the nearby Giridih district.
At around 4 o’clock, according to defence attorney Kumar Bimlendu, the special CBI court would probably announce its decision. While I am unable to comment on the verdict’s outcome, Bimlendu stated, “I have argued against the prosecution’s accusation of murder since, in my opinion, they have failed to substantiate the accused’s motive behind the claimed crime”.
After watching CCTV footage of the incident, which involved a three-wheeler veering on a clear road to strike the jogger, the Jharkhand High Court and the Supreme Court both took notice of the matter. The 49-year-old judge may have been knocked down by the auto-rickshaw in an attempt to steal his cell phone, according to the CBI’s initial theory, which was rejected by the high court, which also kept an eye on the probe.
The two defendants were charged by the CBI with violating Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder), 201 (evidence destruction), and 34 (common intention). The prosecution presented 58 witnesses and 40 experts, including Doctors, Scientists, and Forensic experts, during the trial to support its allegations.
