India’s 4th Monkeypox Case. NO FOREIGN TRAVEL HISTORY

On Sunday, a 34-year-old man tested positive for the illness that is now spreading over the world for the first time, and Delhi announced its first incidence of monkeypox and India’s fourth. In contrast to the other three instances reported from Kerala, the individual is a resident of Paschim Vihar in west Delhi and has no prior travel history to regions where the disease is present, according to officials.

As per reports, the man took a trip to a stag party in Manali, Himachal Pradesh.

Another team of health professionals is monitoring everyone the patient has come into touch with over the past several days and isolating anyone who has symptoms of disease.

Through indirect or direct contact, the monkeypox virus can spread from sick animals to people. Direct contact with infected skin or lesions, such as face-to-face contact, skin-to-skin contact, or respiratory droplets, can result in human-to-human transmission. There have been five recorded deaths as a result of the outbreak, with over 16,000 cases of monkeypox reported globally from 75 different countries.

Monkeypox has been deemed a worldwide public health emergency of international concern by the WHO on Saturday.
