The richest man in India, Gautam Adani, is now ranked fourth on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people. This follows Bill Gates’ announcement last week that he would be giving $20 billion of his wealth to Bill & Melinda Gates, his non-profit organisation.
The 66-year-old computer mogul also disclosed in a blog that he intended to eventually donate all of his riches to the foundation that he and his ex-wife had established. “Giving this money is not at anyway a sacrifice from my end. I appreciate the opportunity to work on such monumental problems, and I feel obligated to give back to society in ways that will most significantly enhance people’s quality of life. When he made the major revelation that would end his reign as the world’s richest man, he had added, “I hope others in positions of tremendous wealth and privilege will stand forward in this moment too.”

The estimated net worth of Indian businessman Gautam Adani is $114 billion. His net worth increased from $50 billion to $90 billion between 2021 and 2022.
The Adani Group, one of the top three conglomerates in India, was founded and is currently led by him. The Adani Group is made up of seven publicly traded companies with a total market value of more than $177.49 billion (as of July 19, 2022). These companies operate in a variety of industries, including energy, ports and logistics, mining and resources, gas, defence and aerospace, and airports. The Group has established leading positions in India in each of its business sectors, according to its official website.
The 60-year-old businessman overtook Mukesh Ambani in February to become Asia’s richest person.
With a net worth of $230 billion, Elon Musk tops the Forbes list, Bernard Arnault, the head of Louis Vuitton, is ranked second. Third on the list is the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos.
