According to Information, officials stated that, In the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir, an unintentional grenade explosion along the Line of Control claimed the lives of an Army captain and an junior commissioned officer.
“Last night, when troops were going about their business along the Line of Control, a grenade accidentally exploded in Mendhar Sector, Dist Poonch. Soldiers were hurt in the explosion”.
“Captain Anand and Nb Sub Bhagwan Singh, One officer and one JCO passed away, while their wounds were receiving treatment”, said by the PRO Defence of Jammu.
Both captain Anand and Nb Sub Bhagwan Singh belonged to Pokhar Bhitta, Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
The Defence PRO claims that the explosion along the Line of Control (LOC) on Sunday night injured Army troops who were carrying out their duties.
An Army PRO stated that the Army men were all on duty when the event occurred late on Sunday night in Poonch’s Mendhar area. He claimed that a helicopter instantly transported the Army captain and the JCO to Udhampur for medical attention. They passed away while receiving treatment in Udhampur, a city in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Army official stated that “The General Officer Commander And White Knight Corps along with all the Ranks salute the Bravehearts, for their supreme sacrifice in line of duty. The Nation shall forever remain indebted to the bravehearts for their supreme sacrifice”.
