MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, was taken to a hospital two days after his COVID-19 test was positive. Following the confirmation of COVID19 on testing, he had tweeted, “There was weariness today and I have secluded myself.” “Let’s all stay safe wearing masks and obtaining vaccines,” he continued.
Stalin has been taken into Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital. According to a medical bulletin sent by Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, co-founder and executive director of Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital, the chief minister has been admitted to the facility for “examination and observation” due to symptoms associated with the coronavirus.
In pictures the government posted over the last three days, the Chief Minister was not wearing a mask. The Chief Minister was spotted without a mask while he reviewed plans for the next World Chess Olympiad and storm water drainage projects in the Chengalpattu district.
2,269 instances were reported in the state yesterday, with 729 cases coming from Chennai. There are 18,282 current cases in the entire state.
Although the state has issued fines of 200 for failing to wear a mask covering the mouth and nose and 500 for failing to abide by the rules of physical distance, people, especially political leaders, frequently disregard these.
