India Meteorological Department issued a heavy rainfall alert in more than 10 districts in Telangana. State Government of Telangana announced that all educational institutions like schools and colleges will be shut till 16th July.
A tweet from the official Twitter handle of the Chief Minister of Telangana said
The tweet, translated to English, says: “CM Shri KCR has decided to extend the already declared holidays for the educational institutions till the 16th due to the ongoing heavy rains. The officials of the education department have been ordered to issue orders to this effect. As per the CM’s directives, the Education Department has issued orders extending the holidays.”
The decision to extend holidays from 13th to 16th was taken on Wednesday, during a meeting with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Previously, the state announced holidays from 11th to 13th due to heavy rains forecast.
