The military of Ukraine reportedly announced that Russian forces had taken control of the eastern city of Lysychansk.
After heavy fighting for Lysychansk, the defence forces of Ukraine were forced to withdraw from their occupied positions and lines.

Moreover, as per sources, the army general staff added that this decision to withdraw was taken to preserve the lives of Ukrainian defenders.
In terms of artillery, aviation, personnel, and other assets, the Russians enjoyed a number of advantages.
President Vladimir Putin was informed by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that Russian forces and members of a local separatist group “have established full control over the city of Lysychansk.”
According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian troops will recapture Lysychansk as a result of their strategy.

The last significant Ukrainian-held city in Ukraine’s Luhansk province was taken possession of by Russian forces on Sunday, according to the Russian defence minister, putting Moscow one step closer to its declared aim of annexing the whole Donbas area of Ukraine.
The conflict in Donbas is far from over with Lysychansk’s collapse. Large metropolitan centres in neighbouring Donetsk remain under Ukrainian control. Although they too are currently the target of intense Russian bombardment, their soldiers have begun constructing new defensive lines between Bakhmut and Slovyansk. Heavy losses have been occurring on both sides.
