In the ongoing Test match between India and England, Rishabh Pant shattered two records at the same time. After smashing a hundred of just 89 balls, he broke Dhoni’s record of an Indian wicketkeeper with the fastest hundred in Test cricket.
In addition to this, having smashed a six on Jack Leach’s delivery, he shattered Sachin Tendulkar’s 24 year old record to become the youngest Indian player to hit 100 sixes in International Cricket, at the age of 24 years and 270 days. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was 25 years of age, when he crossed this mark in International Cricket, preceeded by Suresh Raina who was 25 years and 77 days of age.

Now he just torred the England bowling lineup after scoring magnificient 146 runs off just 111 balls and just the level of temperament he showed today along with Jadeja from a terrifying situation when India was down to 98 runs at the loss of 5 wickets was unbelievable. The day which perfectly belonged to the duo who together stitched a massive, controllable and explosive partnership of 222 runs for the sixth wicket when Pant got bit too greedy and fell to Joe Root.

Before that, all was about the legend James Anderson’s classy swing bowling, who dismissed Shubhman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara cheaply. Then the newcomer Matty Potts tookover the charge and dismissed Hanuma Vihari and King Kohli. At the end of the day, India finished at 338 runs for the loss of 7 wickets after 73 overs with 17 overs being lost to rain. This is also India’s highest score ever on the first day of a Test match in England. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten scoring 83 runs and Shami remained notout without troubling the scoreboard.
