According to Dmitry Medvedev, a former president of Russia, any intrusion on the Crimean peninsula by a NATO member state might be construed as a declaration of war against Russia and could trigger “World War Three.”
“Crimea belongs to Russia in our eyes. It also means indefinitely. Any effort to invade Crimea constitutes a declaration of war against our nation. And if a NATO member state engages in this, it will result in warfare with the whole North Atlantic alliance and a third world war. An absolute disaster”
The Russian Security Council’s deputy chairman, Dmitry Medvedev, also stated that if Finland and Sweden joined NATO, Russia would fortify its borders and be “prepared for punitive steps,” which might entail positioning Iskander hypersonic missiles “near their threshold.”
This statement by Medvedev came after Ukraine was granted membership of EU. Now many European countries have decided to cut off imports regarding Russian power supply, Gold etc. after demands of Russia to pay them in Russian Rubbles. Ukraine now being a part of Europe, getting direct support from the fellow European countries in order to stop Russia to stop War with Ukraine.
