A prominent Muslim group, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, denounced the brutal assassination of a tailor on Tuesday in Udaipur, Rajasthan, saying that it could not be justified in any manner and was against Islam.
A tailor in Udaipur had his throat cut by two guys who claimed in a video posted on social media that they were retaliating for an insult to Islam.
The general secretary of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi, denounced the “brutal death in Udaipur presumably under the excuse of the insult to the Prophet” and said it was “against the religion of Islam” in a statement.
He declared that whoever committed this conduct could not be justified in any way and that it was against both “our religion” and the law of the state.
No one has the right to impose law on others in our nation because of the legal system, according to Qasmi. Additionally, he urged everyone in the nation to exhibit restraint and keep the peace.
The individuals who are accused of carrying out the daylight slaying released internet recordings confessing to the crime before being apprehended by police. In a video footage, one of the alleged attackers claimed to have beheaded the victim before threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the same knife. The attackers made indirect reference to Nupur Sharma, a BJP leader who was expelled from the organisation for a comment she made about the Prophet Mohammad.
Due to certain comments he posted on social media, the local police recently detained the tailor Kanhaiya Lal.
