Ranchi police officers are injured in a protest over Prophet statements, and a curfew has been enforced

On Friday, some police officers were injured while attempting to pacify an enraged mob near a Hanuman temple on the Main Road in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Protests erupted in the city following comments made by former BJP leaders about Prophet Muhammad.

To keep the mob that poured out onto the road after Friday prayers and threw stones and yelled slogans under control, police fired in the air and used lathi-charge.

To handle the situation and prevent any unfortunate incidents, a large security deployment has been created.

According to authorities, the protest started early in the morning and picked up speed after Friday prayers. Many shops and establishments kept their shutters down in protest against the remarks.

Protesters set fire to and vandalised vehicles, and stone-pelting was reported in Ranchi, where a curfew has been imposed.
