Ukraine’s envoy is pleading with Israel to sell its Iron Dome missile interceptor and give anti-tank missiles to protect people from Russian invasion.
On Tuesday, Yevgen Korniychuk refrained from accusing Israel of obstructing the sale of the missile defence system.
He does, however, want Israel to back up its verbal support for Ukraine with military aid.
He said Ukraine wants to buy the Iron Dome system at a news conference in Tel Aviv, and that the US would not block such a trade. According to the Congressional Research Service, the US has been financially backing Israel’s Iron Dome for almost a decade, giving around $1.6 billion for its production and maintenance.
