According to a top source, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik requested all ministers to resign from the cabinet of ministers on Saturday, ahead of a rearrangement on June 5.
The function will be place in the state secretariat, the Lok Seva Bhavan, and Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, who is visiting Puri, has been notified.
A reliable source in the Raj Bhavan informed that the new ministers will enter office on Sunday at 11.45 a.m. at a session to be conducted at the Convention Centre on the premises of the Lok Seva Bhavan. Ministers have begun filing their paperwork, according to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). It will be the ministry’s first reorganisation in its three-year history.
The procedure must be finished by Monday, as the governor would be leaving Odisha in two days.
Patnaik, who is in his sixth term as chief minister, is also planning a trip to Rome and Dubai beginning June 20 and wants to restructure the ministry before leaving, according to CMO sources. The government reshuffle started a day after the governing BJD won three Rajya Sabha seats and the Brajrajnagar assembly constituency by-poll.
