The Supreme Court’s structural changes to the All India Football Federation have brought numerous hurdles to the Indian football governing body. With the threat of a FIFA ban approaching, Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri believes such a decision would be “catastrophic,” especially because he is nearing the end of his career.
Chhetri spoke out amid reports that India could face a FIFA ban following the SC’s decision to remove Praful Patel as AIFF president and replace him with a team of administrators.
“Whatever happens on that front, I hope it is under control and that the country is not sanctioned,” the legendary India skipper remarked.
