40 Kailash Yatra Pilgrims Who Were Stuck Rescued After 36 Hours

According to Sources, At least 40 pilgrims who were stuck in Bundi village as a result of the Kailash Manasarovar road shutdown were rescued by the Uttarakhand authorities on Sunday. Helicopters were used to rescue and transport the trapped Kailash Yatra pilgrims to Dharchula.

Large rocks on the Kailash Yatra path, according to the authorities, forced the closure of the road.

At the same time, a significant accident caused by cloudburst occurred during the Amarnath Yatra. In the accident, 19 persons passed away. Additionally, more than 40 people vanished. Many pilgrims were safely evacuated.

“After eight airplanes left, all of the pilgrims were transported to Dharchula safely. After returning from the Kailash Yatra, the road was blocked, and pilgrims got delayed at Bundi”, according to the Deputy Collector for Dharchula.

There were two options available to pilgrims. “One travels over the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand, while the other travels through the Nathu La Pass in Sikkim”. After being stranded for 36 hours, they were rescued.
