30 Chinese aircraft cross Taiwanese airspace, making it the year’s second-largest invasion

On Monday, China launched the second-largest invasion into Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) this year, with 30 aircraft, including 22 fighter jets, as well as electronic warfare, early warning and antisubmarine aircraft, entering the territory, according to Taipei.

Taiwan responded by sending planes and deploying air defense missile systems to track the Chinese planes, according to the Taiwan’s Defense Ministry.

For the past two years or more, Taiwan has protested about recurrent incursions by China’s air force near the democratically administered island, often in the southern area of its air defense identification zone, or ADIZ, close to the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands.
